Full Day 'Cappadocian Classic' Tour
In the morning, your first sight of the lunar landscape of Cappadocia. See rock formations that are beyond belief in the Devrent valley and visit Zelve Open Air Museum. This is truly a journey through the past with its troglodyte houses. Visit to Papabao 'fairy chimneys' where the voice of the wind mixes with the 'songs of fairies'. Lunch in Avanos, the centre for terracotta works of art since 3000 BC and a demonstration in a traditional pottery workshop. In the afternoon, visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum and see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia. There are churches cut into the rocks, with frescoes and paintings dating back to the 10th and 13th centuries. Climb to the top of the Uchisar Rock-Castle to have a stunning panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia.
N.B: Depending on the season, the Goreme Open Air Museum visit time can be altered to avoid crowds of tour buses. The 'Dark Church' is also included in this tour.
Full Day 'Wonders of Cappadocia' Tour
In the morning, you will 'descend to the center of the earth' in the Underground city of Kaymakly, the largest and the deepest of the other 40 in Cappadocia. Today you will also walk down the Ihlara Canyon, beside the Melendiz river to the village of Belisyrma.
Among the wonderful sights you should see will be churches cut out of the rock spread across a wild river valley and you will be surprised at the beautifully painted scenes from the Bible. Lunch in Belisyrma in a local restaurant set by the river. You will visit the Caravanserai of Aozykarahan. A very good example of the Turkish Seljuk art built early in the 13th century on the 'Silk Road' route to accommodate traders and their camels.
